Dear Dr. Bartholomew,
I left a phone message, but am following with this e-mail.
I am researching my grandfather, Hans M. Nesse, who completed his studies
from what is now Luther Seminary in 1910. He subsequently served as a
missionary in China from 1910 thru 1950. Over that period he wrote
articles and letters that were published in three different
periodicals: *Lutheran
Herald*, *United Lutheran*, and *Lutheraneren*. I have clippings from the
early years, but would like to find additional material that he wrote. I
note that your library has copies of these periodicals.
I am planning to come to the Twin Cities, possibly next week. While there I
would like to visit your library and look through these periodicals if that
is possible. Before making the trip, however, I need some information so
that I don't waste either my time or yours, so some questions:
May I get access to these periodicals?
Are there certain hours when it would be better to be at the library.
In what form are they...paper or microfiche?
Is it possible to make copies of relevant pages at the library?
Is it possible that the Seminary archives would have records of his time
there? He attended 1907-1910, and was there on furlough 1918-1919,
